Study of home automation solutions for energy saving in social housing promoted by the EMVS

The project proposes a study of possible energy savings in lighting and air conditioning offering home automation technology applications in social housing promoted by the “Empresa Municipal de Vivienda y Suelo (EMVS)” of the city council of Madrid.

The proposed solutions should be adapted, in complexity and cost, to the philosophy of social housing of the EMVS. The project's objective is to analyze the requirements and characteristics of social housing promoted by the EMVS and to propose solutions, where the automation can help to achieve reductions in energy consumption. Those proposed solutions will be considering the cost limitations according to the social housing promotion.

A report has been generated at the end of the project, including among others, the following contents: quantification of consumption in social housing, construction characteristics of social housing and associated lighting systems, air conditioning and hot water; profile management lighting and air conditioning systems, recommendations for energy saving in social housing and, finally, proposed energy savings solutions for smart homes in social housing.
