WEb-access coNfidence for chilDren and Young

Nowadays, chindren share their private data in social networks with little or no precaution. Moreover, children do not state their real age in Social Networks, given that they may need parental permission to join them.

The goal of the Project WENDY (WEb-access coNfidence for chilDren and Young) is to analyze, research and develop biometric techniques to estimate the real age of Social Networ users, in order to protect children in them.

The goal of the Project WENDY (WEb-access coNfidence for chilDren and Young) is to analyze, research and develop biometric techniques to estimate the real age of Social Networ users, in order to protect children in them.

Specific Goals

1. To analyze currently existing biometric techniques in order to estimate the user age, both using fisiological (e.g. face) and behavior (e.g. typing dynamics) information.

2. To develop the required biometric techniques needed to effectively protect children in the Internet, including the suitable algorithms for recognizing user ages.

3. To integrate the developed techniques in a prototype that demonstrates how it recognizes the age of users ina Social Network.

4. To evaluate the accuracy and robustness of the system against potential attacks.

5. To propose additional applications apart from that demonstrated in the prototype, in order to increase children security in the Internet.
