The EMET Project was financed in 2008 by “Programa Nacional de Investigación Fundamental” in the framework of “Plan Nacional de I+D+i” of Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación.
Research on the field of metamaterials.
The scientific and technologic aim of this project is to research and to develop new applications related to metamaterials field together with other entities which belong to the consortium. We expect to demonstrate some of the scientific and technological challenges that nowadays exist in the field of metamaterials in both electromagnetic (microwaves, terahertz frequencies and optical devices) and acoustics field. New ideas and techniques for the design of superlenses, superprisms, antennas and filters will be carried out. Furthermore, this project has a clear intention to spread the use of technology in the field of wireless and optical communications. All that knowledge will be applied in image processing devices for medical purposes, in sensors for security purposes, in space and defense applications and so on.
