On July 2, our colleague Igor G\u00f3mez Gil de San Vicente received the final grade for his Master\u2019s Thesis, earning a 9.4. With this mark, he successfully completed the Master\u2019s Degree in Systems and Control Engineering, jointly offered by UNED and Universidad Complutense de Madrid. <\/p>\n\n
His Master\u2019s Thesis, entitled:<\/p>\n\n
\u201cControl and monitoring system for a large telescope dome with absolute azimuth position detection through RFID tag reading\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n focuses on the development of an advanced technological solution to modernize the control system of one of the domes at the Observatorio de Sierra Nevada. The project implements an innovative azimuth localization technique based on RFID, complemented by magnetic sensors, standard interfaces such as ASCOM-Alpaca and MQTT, and an architecture built on embedded Linux systems.
