The Centro de Domótica Integral (CeDInt) of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid begins a new chapter with the appointment of Roberto Prieto López as the new director of the center. With a strong academic and research background, Roberto Prieto takes on this new challenge with the aim of consolidating and strengthening CeDInt’s role as a leading hub in technological innovation, energy efficiency, and intelligent environments.

Full Professor in the Department of Automation, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Industrial Informatics since 2016, and previously Associate Professor in the same department since 2000, Roberto Prieto has been closely involved in applied research within UPM. He has been a member of the Applied Electronic Technology Group (GTEA) since 2021 and has been part of the Centro de Electrónica Industrial (CEI) since 2006.

His relationship with CeDInt is not new, but it is now formalized with his appointment as director starting in May 2025. In this role, Prieto faces significant challenges: CeDInt faces challenges associated with the growth of its activity, such as launching a training program aligned with the research lines currently being developed, as well as organizing and coordinating the different groups and individuals involved in the project, always in harmony with the university’s strategy.”

With this new momentum, CeDInt reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence, knowledge transfer, and technological innovation aimed at improving society.
