Multichannel freeform imaging optics: Applications to VR
Descripción (resumen):
Today’s manufacturing techniques allow not only using differentiable freeform surfaces but also surfaces with creases.
• Multichannelingis an optical design strategy that make use of these creases for splitting and stitching the bundles.
• This additional degree of freedom the design process allows:
- Imaging: increasing FOV
- Nonimaging: Increasing collection efficiency, controlling intensity and irradiance patterns
