El IoTMADLab presenta tecnologías de ciudad inteligente en el Smart City Expo World Congress 2024

The IoTMADLab had an outstanding participation in the SmartCity Expo World Congress 2024, held at the FIRA in Barcelona on 5, 6 and 7 November. During this event, recognised worldwide for bringing together leaders in urban innovation and technology, the Digital Office of the Madrid City Council together with the UPM, presented the activities of the City Intelligence Lab at the stand Espacio Madrid Capital Digital. This stand allowed visitors to get a closer look at the technological solutions and projects that are transforming Madrid's urban environment and anticipating the city of the future.
On Wednesday 6 November, Guillermo del Campo, Technical Director of IoTMADLab CEDINT-UPM, gave a presentation entitled ‘Madrid - Universities R&D&I Collaboration’. During his speech he explained the details of the new agreement between the Madrid City Council and the Polytechnic University of Madrid, through which a space for physical and virtual collaboration has been created to promote innovation and excellence in cutting-edge technologies. The objective is the implementation of smart and sustainable municipal services with the citizen as the focus, through the deployment of IoT networks and devices, 5G-SA connectivity, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, among others. In addition, visitors had the opportunity to explore first-hand the developments IoTMADLab is working on in the implementation of a neutral, open and interoperable IoT network architecture, as well as its integration into a virtual reality-based digital twin application.
This type of event underlines the importance of collaboration between municipal administration and academia in the search for innovative solutions that will transform our cities into more liveable and sustainable places. The IoTMADLab remains committed to research and development in the field of IoT, and its participation in international forums reflects Madrid's relevance in the global sphere of urban technology.
