OFERTA DE BECA PREDOCTORAL ASOCIADA A PROYECTO OSLO (FPI MICINN)

Thursday, 19 January 2023

The Advanced Optics group of CEDINT-UPM (https://www.cedint.upm.es/en/research-line/advanced-optical-engineering) offers the possibility of developing the PhD in the framework of the OSLO project (Optics Designs to surpass the Concentration Limit of Lineal Systems). The OSLO project proposes the use of optics based on the étendue-squeezing technique that enhance the performance of high temperature parabolic trough concentrators. This technological advance will be used to develop a device that will demonstrate experimentally a concentration ratio above the theoretical limit, but still maintaining the tubular absorber, and therefore increase the applications of parabolic trough concentrators. The PhD student will collaborate with other researchers in different tasks such as theoretical study, the optical design of concentrators, the selection of system components, and the development and experimental validation of a prototype.

Requisites:

  • Master degree (or master student in the final year) in Electronics Engineering, Physics or similar. Good academic record and motivation for research.
