Asunción Santamaría y el Dr. Luca Piovano del CEDINT-UP participaron en la tercera edición del Foro 5G de Madrid.

On March 15th, Professor Asunción Santamaría and Dr. Luca Piovano from CEDINT-UPM participated in the third edition of the Madrid 5G Forum. This event, an initiative led by the Digital Office of the Madrid City Council, aims to serve as a catalyst in promoting the development and implementation of projects related to the deployment of networks, infrastructures, and services based on 5G technology. The goal is to create an open, neutral, and interoperable infrastructure that facilitates the connection and monitoring of urban resources, facilities, and equipment, aligning with the efforts of the "Madrid, Capital Digital" strategy and its corresponding "Agenda 5G."
Advancements in active 5G corridors and demonstrators in the capital were highlighted in the meeting, along with associated smart urban spaces and potential use cases. These projects are being developed in several strategic locations, including the School of Telecommunications, the University Institute for Automobile Research, and the CEDINT at UPM, as well as in key urban areas like Casa de Campo, Valdemingómez, and Mercamadrid. The active participation of CEDINT-UPM, through the IoTMADLab laboratory, underscores its commitment to innovation in the Internet of Things (IoT) and digital twins sectors, which are central to its contribution to this ambitious technological project.
