On April 19, the Official College and the Madrid Association of Industrial Engineers held the awards ceremony for the Best Master's Degree Final Projects in the category of technological innovation in the last two editions of these awards, which are organized in collaboration with the Rodolfo Benito Samaniego Foundation. The dean of the COIIM, César Franco, opened the ceremony by pointing out the fantastic level of the award-winning works, which in these editions focused, on the one hand, "on the more research-oriented part carried out by our engineers" and, on the other hand, "on how engineering is capable of tackling an issue as important as energy". The jury was represented by Pedro Pérez Buendía, one of the members, who highlighted both the level of the works presented in the two editions honored and the high level of participation that the contest has experienced in recent years. "These awards are a reflection of the fact that we need technological innovation for the development of society," he said. It was time for the awards ceremony, which recognized Laura Mascaraque and Carlos Salinas as the winners of the last two editions. The works of Daniel Sánchez, José Luis de la Quintana, Ana Palacios and Omar Velasco were also awarded with second prizes. All of them briefly presented their work at the event, which was broadcast online through the Association's YouTube channel and can be seen at this link. The vice-president of the Association of Industrial Engineers of Madrid, Emilio Mínguez, was in charge of closing the event and pointed out that "these works reflect the spirit of what a TFM should be in industrial engineering, where transversal research is becoming increasingly important".
