For the last six years, the enerTIC Awards have been awarded to innovative technological projects carried out by companies and organisations committed to energy efficiency and sustainability. Participation in this VI Call has increased by 58%; both public and private organizations have presented their projects in 14 categories, including Smart Cities, Smart Energy, Smart Industry 4.0, Smart Data Center and International Projects.

On September 13, the Commission of Experts of the enerTIC Platform evaluated the 116 projects presented and selected the finalists in each of the awarded categories. The selection process met the evaluation criteria: according to the degree of innovation applied, the usability of Information and Communication Technologies, the impact on the reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emissions, the exemplarity or applicability in other organizations/environments, and the use of metrics and indicators of improvement.

The online voting period for the winners is open to the general public until 16 November on the Awards website. Their votes will decide the winning projects of the enerTIC Awards 2018, which will be announced on December 12 at the Official Awards Ceremony at the State Secretariat for Digital Advancement (Madrid).

All the finalist projects will appear in the VII Smart Energy Reference Guide: "Technology for the Improvement of Energy Efficiency" which will be presented at the Smart City Expo World Congress and during the Ceremony for the Delivery of the enerTIC Awards.
