Research on advanced optical displays for projection devices

Development of an optical device which, once it is connected to a conventional projector, permits to project an image with both high resolution and size from an extraordinary short distance.

The PTV-2 project expects to develop an optical device which, once it is connected to a conventional projector, permits to project an image with both high resolution and size from an extraordinary short distance.

The principal aim of the PTV-2 project is to develop an optical system using the SMS design method. On one hand an optical device will be externally attached to a conventional projector in order to achieve high resolution; on the other hand, a group of internal lenses will be introduced inside the projector to reduce the projection distance. As a result an ultra-compact projection system will be obtained.
