Recibimos la visita de varios institutos procedientes de la iniciativa europea RM@Schools.

On April 28, 2022, we received the visit of a group of students from the IES Lázaro Cárdenas (Collado Villalba, Madrid), the IIS Ettore Majorana (Bologna, Italy) and professors from the UPM School of Mining Engineering in the context of the European initiative RM@Schools. This project, which has been carried out since 2017 under the umbrella of the Raw Material Academy, allows students from 12 to 19 years old from different countries in Europe to get involved in active learning activities, experimenting with practical educational kits related to raw materials, and participating in communication and scientific outreach activities. A total of 24 people, including students and teachers, attended CEDINT - UPM at the Montegancedo Campus to learn about the activities of the Virtual Reality and Data Visualization group. During the visit, different interactive demonstrations were carried out with the applications developed in projects such as VirtualMine, among others. In this way, students have been able to experience a virtual visit to a 3D reconstructed mine; learn to recognize minerals and rocks through Augmented Reality; learn about the history of humanity through the use of raw materials with an interactive comic; and discover how to extract and process these raw materials to build objects for daily use by a serious game for mobile devices.
